THE GOSPEL OF PEACE

“And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! …. Romans 10:15”.

A lot of people today are confusing the gospel to that of Condemnation. The gospel is not about repent, repent lest you die. All ye fornicators and adulterous, all ye killers, kidnappers, thieves, repent, change from your wicked ways else you die. All ye this, all ye that- They know that is who they are but it is not your duty to condemn them, rather your duty is to save them by preaching to them, the gospel of peace, reconciling them to God: making them His friends as you yourself is reconciled and have peace with God, that is if you are ‘Born Again’.

So many people do not understand this; that the gospel is that of peace and the message is that of goodnews, they go in ignorance, preaching different doctrines. The bible talks about them in Romans 10:3-4 “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness,  have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth”.

Jesus came to preach Peace, he came to reconcile us to God, making us friends of God (Ephesians 2:16-17). By grace (unmerited favour) are we saved, we do not work for it. All you simply need do is get Born again. Jesus made a striking (ineluctable) statement about this in John 3:3. When he said “Verily, Verily , I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.

And how do you get Born again? The word of God let us know how in Romans 10:9 “That if thou shall confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved” Luke 15:7 lets us know that there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.
