Prayer of the Congregation for Fruit of the Womb

Opening Scripture:* “Behold, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” – Psalm 127:3 (KJV)

Dear Heavenly Father, as a congregation united in prayer, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation, lifting up those who desire the fruit of the womb. Lord, You are the giver of life, and we trust in Your promise to bless families with children.

You said, “Behold, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward” (Psalm 127:3). Lord, we pray that You would bless us with fruitfulness and multiply our families, as You said, “And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth” (Genesis 1:28).

As You blessed Abraham and Sarah, saying, “And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her” (Genesis 17:15-16), we pray that You would bless couples and grant them a child.

You visited Sarah and granted her a child, “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken” (Genesis 21:1). Lord, we pray that You would visit couples and grant them a child.

You opened the womb of Leah, “And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb” (Genesis 29:31). Lord, we pray that You would open the wombs of those who are barren.

May our children be a heritage from You, and may they be taught by You, “And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children” (Isaiah 54:13).

May they be a crown to their parents in old age, “Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers” (Proverbs 17:6).

We trust in Your promise to supply all our needs, “And God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

And as Hannah prayed, “My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord” (1 Samuel 2:1), may our hearts rejoice in Your salvation.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
