New Life in Christ

Scripture: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (King James Version)

As we consider the gift of salvation, we are reminded that it is not just about escaping punishment for our sins, but about receiving a new life in Christ. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become a new creation, and our old life is transformed.

The depth of God’s love for us is revealed in the fact that “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). This verse reminds us that God’s love for us is not based on our worthiness, but on His mercy and compassion.

Salvation is a gift that we receive by faith, not by our own efforts or good works. The Bible tells us, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8). We cannot earn salvation; it is a gift that God gives us freely.

When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we can experience the salvation that He offers. The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13). This promise is available to all who call upon the name of the Lord and trust in Him for eternal life.

“Lord Jesus, I come to You as a sinner in need of salvation. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Help me to walk in Your ways and live for You from now on. Amen.”
