A Gift of Love

In John 3:16, Jesus says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse highlights the idea that eternal life is a gift that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Wages of Sin vs. The Gift of Life

In Romans 6:23, Paul writes, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This passage emphasizes the contrast between the consequences of sin and the gift of eternal life. While sin leads to death, God’s gift is eternal life, which is available to us through Jesus Christ.

The Assurance of Eternal Life

In 1 John 5:11-12, John writes, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
