Text: John 14:15, 1 John 2:3, Deuteronomy 28:1-2
The Path of Obedience
Walking in obedience to God’s Word is a fundamental part of our relationship with Him. In John 14:15, Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commands.” This statement highlights the connection between love and obedience. When we love God, we desire to obey Him and follow His commands.
Knowing and Obeying God’s Commands
In 1 John 2:3, John writes, “And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commands.” This passage emphasizes the importance of obedience as a demonstration of our knowledge of God. When we obey God’s commands, we show that we truly know Him and are committed to following Him.
The Blessings of Obedience
In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Moses writes, “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.” This passage highlights the blessings that come from obedience. When we obey God, we experience His blessings and obedience.
