Turning Point: Embracing Redemption
Scripture: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
As we journey through life, we often find ourselves at crossroads, facing decisions that can alter the course of our destiny. One such turning point is the choice to repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for our sins; it’s about turning away from them and embracing a new life in Christ.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that we are all sinners. The Bible tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23). This verse reminds us that sin is a universal problem that affects every human being. We all have fallen short of God’s perfect standard, and this realization should lead us to humility and repentance.
Secondly, we must understand the consequences of sin. The Bible warns us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). Sin leads to death, but God offers us eternal life through Jesus Christ. This gift is available to all who believe in Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
Thirdly, we must respond to God’s offer of salvation. The Bible instructs us, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9). Salvation is available to all who confess Jesus as Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead.
If you are ready to make that turning point in your life, to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to say the following prayer with us:
A Confession Prayer
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God, who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I invite You into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior. I trust in Your finished work on the cross and Your power to transform me. Thank You for Your love and mercy. I will follow You and live for You from now on. Amen.
